LAKE DISTRICT

The small town of Ambleside is located on the Northern end of Lake Windermere. It is, without doubt, our favourite Lakes Location. The town is small enough to have a Village feel about it, but large enough to benefit from a variety of mouth watering restaurants, Pubs and shops catering mainly for Walkers and tourists.
Ambleside is in the Centre of the Lake District National Park, giving easy access to the main area of the Lakes, roads from the town lead to Coniston and Hawkeshead, Elterwater and The Langdales, Ullswater and Keswick. It is a favoured destination both for Walking and Biking enthusiasts, the town is one of Europe's largest Centres for outdoor clothing, as well as tourists who want to explore the Lakes villages and towns by road or foot.
Waterhead to the South of the town provides ferry transport around Windermere, as well as boat hire. Whether you are coming to the Lakes to walk or bike on the Fells, or just to explore the beauty and surroundings of the Lake District, Ambleside will provide you with everything you are looking for.
